when hypno debuted in 2013, we were the first to capture instant moving pictures at private parties and venues all over new york city. at that time, experiential marketing was still a new idea and brands were just beginning to show up IRL with hands-on experiences designed to grab your attention and earn your trust.

we never imagined that our obsession with cameras and code would grow into a booming business for us and the brands we partnered with  — yet we could see one thing very clearly, even then:

live events and real experiences mattered.

you literally had to be there.

for our generation, the look and feel of those early pictures will never be matched — gritty, low-light, animated snapshots from a time when friends were actually friends and photo sharing was purely personal.

it's no surprise that today, a new generation craves the same kind of experiences we had while figuring ourselves out. the current revival of "vintage" photo booths is proof of this desire to sit down, smile for a second and be seen for who you really are, in the moment, somewhere specific and real, using "simpler technology" that can only see and show the truth.
